Why Cold Fusion?
|

Years ago, when we started building dynamic, database driven websites, we took a close look at the top middleware and their associated languages to determine which we should gain proficiency in.
|
We compared ASP, PHP, JSP and Cold Fusion. The thing that struck us immediately was the amount of code it would take to create a given chunk of functionality. Cold Fusion took many less lines of code than the others, which is still true today.
Simply querying a database in Cold Fusion takes a single tag and two attributes. Doing so in most other languages takes anywhere from 4 to 8 lines of code. Multiply this difference by many thousands of lines of code to write a larger application and it becomes clear that Cold Fusion is much faster in development, and saves clients a LOT of money.

Somedude's Website Design grew out of owner Mark Gregory's passion for building websites.
In the very early days of the web, Mark starting building websites in his spare time because it was, well just cool. Eventually he left his career in Pro Audio and went full time as a web developer.
Today, Mark is still convinced that he has the coolest job in the world.
