Project Background:
Specialties Inc is in the business of auto prep for TV and Film. A tremendous amount of detailed attention goes in to each vehicle before it is camera ready. Their clients are, of course, the auto manufacturers. Specialties is generally regarded as the class act in this business.
Their site's purpose was not so much to provide detailed information about the company. Their clients and prospective clients already know who they are since this is a fairly niche business. The main purpose of the site is really to enhance their image. In other words, there is little functionality required, it just has to look *cool*. A desinger's dream gig!

Project Solutions:
We used Flash for a dramatic intro sequence as well as to create unique navigation rollover effects. Check them out at http://www.specialtiesinc.tv/.
The site's visitors are mostly auto manufacturers and ad agencies, all of who are very likely to have broadband access, so we pushed the bandwidth. The site is defnintely not for the dialup user.
This is an interesting example of how the right site for one company would be totally inappropriate for another. The Specialties site's purpose in life is to be look good, and has recieved rave reviews from their clients and industry contacts. This site fills its purpose perfectly, but would be a less ideal solution for an online jewelry store for example.
